فِي البَدءِ كَانَ الكَلِمَة،
وَالكَلِمَةُ كَانَ عِندَ الله.
وَكَانَ الكَلِمَةُ هو اللهُ.
هو كَانَ فِي البَدءِ عِندَ الله.
بِهِ تَكَوَّنَ كُلُّ شَيءٍ،
وَبِغَيرِهِ لَم يَتَكَوَّن أَيُّ شَيءٍ مِمَّا تَكَوَّن.
فِيهِ كَانَتِ الحَيَاة.
وَالحَيَاةُ كَانَت نُور النَّاس.
وَالنُّورُ يُضِيءُ فِي الظَّلام،
وَالظَّلامُ لَم يُدرِك النُّور.
فِي البَدءِ كَانَ الكَلِمَة،
وَالكَلِمَةُ كَانَ عِندَ الله.

And the Word was with God

He was with God from the beginning
Through Him everything was created
And apart from him nothing was created of what has been created
In Him was life
And this life was the light of people
And the light shines in the darkness
And the darkness hasn’t known the light
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was with God
